Livable Home Tax Credit Program
The 2007 General Assembly made changes to the Livable Home Tax Credit Program (LHTCP).
These changes are designed to encourage handicapped accessibility and universal visitability in residential units and change administrative responsibility for the program. The LHTCP has been administered by the Virginia Department of Taxation but this responsibility will move to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. Changes will go into effect for the tax year beginning Jan. 1, 2008.
New draft program guidelines have been developed and are available for review. Comments to the draft guidelines will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 28.
