2009 Code Change Cycle General Information
NOTICE: (November 23, 2010): During the 30-day final adoption period for the 2009 building and fire regulations, a number of petitions were received concerning substantive changes between the proposed and final regulations. Consequently, a notice was published in the Virginia Register on November 22, 2010 to suspend those provisions and establish and 30-day comment period for additional comment to be submitted on the suspended provisions. NOTICE: (February 22, 2010): The compilation document for the 2009 Code Change Cycle has been completed. The compilation document contains all code changes received by DHCD along with a staff evaluation sheet for each change. It is comprised for four .pdf files and can be viewed below.
The Board of Housing and Community Development will be receiving public comment on any changes contained in the compilation document through March 22, 2010. If you would like to submit a comment, please send to: Paula Eubank, Associate Director of Technical Assistance Services Office (TASO), Department of Housing and Community Development, 600 East Main St., Suite 300, Richmond, VA 23219 or by email at taso@dhcd.virginia.gov.
NOTICE: The 2009 Proposed regulations adopted by the Board of Housing and Community Development on July 27 for the USBC, SFPC, IBSR and the VADR have been published in the Virginia Register. The public comment period for these proposed regulations will close on January 25, 2010 (the date of the next public hearing on these regulations).
