This training series prepares Main Street community professionals and volunteers for the “switch to six”, illuminating the new Main Street America Community Accreditation Standards through stories from across the network. This new evaluation framework is based on best practices for successful Main Street programs and sets a path for growth and development for newer ones.
Join us for an immersive half-day workshop that digs deep into Main Street America’s fifth accreditation standard- Preservation-Based Economic Development. Successful Main Street efforts are built on the guiding principle that district economic development is obtained by leveraging and preserving its unique historic and cultural assets. By honoring your local history and engaging people in its stories, you make your Main Street more livable, more enjoyable, and more profitable.
This interactive workshop will be led by Kathy Frazier, co-founder and Principal-in-Charge of Frazier Associates. With extensive experience in historic preservation and downtown revitalization, Kathy provides a contextual approach to architecture and planning projects that responds to community character and enhances the final product.
Space is limited so registration is required. Registration is $25, lunch is provided. We hope to see you there!
NOTE: There will be a downtown walking activity as part of this workshop, so please wear comfortable shoes.
