The 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for Project Grants, Planning Grants, and Urgent Need Grants will open in CAMS on Wednesday May 4, 2026. A copy of the 2026 CDBG Program Design Manual and Application Guidelines will be made available at dhcd.virginia.gov/cdbg-community-improvement-grants on April 27, 2026.
To assist with the development and submission of applications, the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will hold a virtual How-to-Apply (HTA) Workshop on Tuesday, May 13, 2026 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. The presentation will focus on best practices for submitting CDBG applications, review programmatic details and changes, and provide guidance for answering application questions
