Virginia Rent Relief Program (RRP)


The Virginia Relief Program (RRP) is designed to support and ensure housing stability across the commonwealth during the coronavirus pandemic. Depending on availability of funds and household need, the RRP may provide financial assistance for rent payments for eligible households. This includes financial assistance for rent payments past due beginning April 1, 2020 and onward with opportunity for renewal based on availability of funding and the household’s need for additional assistance and continued eligibility. 

To get an update about an application submitted through the RRP Support Center, first check your application status by visiting If you are unable to determine your status on the website, send an email to the address above with your last name and application number in the subject line, along with a brief explanation of what happened when you tried to check your status on the website.

New federal regulations require two months of income documentation for at least the two months prior to the submission of the application. 

Mortgage relief applications are no longer being accepted at this time.
