DHCD will hold a webinar for interested intermediaries on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. The VIDA program is a financial education and matched savings program to assist low-income families to obtain homeownership. Participants receive financial management training while saving towards their asset goal. Every dollar saved by the participant is matched by $8 in program funds, not to exceed a total of $4,000 in match.
DHCD is the administrator of the VIDA program and contracts with intermediaries to recruit and to work directly with participants. Intermediary organizations are typically nonprofit organizations, housing authorities and/or local governments. DHCD contracts with intermediaries that specialize in community and economic development activities and have a history of working with low-income families.
