Pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 440.15(d), the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving comments on the reallocation of funds and selection of one or more subgrantee(s) for the following four cities; Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach.
The public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. and will be held virtually.
Interested persons may provide comments regarding the reallocation of Weatherization Assistance Program funds in the region and designation of a new provider pursuant to federal regulations. If you cannot attend the virtual public hearing, you may state your interest or concerns in written testimony via email to jennifer.bissett@dhcd.virginia.gov
The WAP is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and is administered in the Commonwealth of Virginia by DHCD. The program’s purposes are to increase the energy efficiency of dwellings owned or occupied by low-income persons, reduce total residential energy expenditures and improve health and safety, especially for persons who are particularly vulnerable including the elderly, disabled, and children.
