Funding will support the growth of strategic industry sectors, develop talent to meet industry needs and foster entrepreneurial activity

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced today more than $8.1 million in Growth and Opportunity for Virginia (GO Virginia) grant awards for 17 projects focused on creating talent pipelines and accelerating economic growth.

Funding will support rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing and support services to underserved populations in 118 localities

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $12 million in Virginia Housing Trust Fund Homeless Reduction Grants for 68 projects across the Commonwealth. The funding will advance targeted efforts to reduce homelessness for 2,669 individuals and families through 25 permanent supportive housing, 34 rapid rehousing and nine underserved populations innovation projects.

Funding will support new construction and rehabilitation of over 3,936 affordable and special needs housing units

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $93 million in Affordable and Special Needs Housing loans for 57 projects across the Commonwealth. The recommended projects will create and preserve 3,936 total units for low-income and extremely low-income households, including 298 permanent supportive housing, 3,825 rental units and 111 units for sale as homeownership opportunities.

Funds will support construction of biotechnology facilities and expand pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities in Petersburg and other localities

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced more than $66 million in state grants for four projects within the Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Cluster. These projects provide job creation, wage expansion, and broader economic growth throughout the Commonwealth.

Investment will support eviction prevention and diversion services

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $2.9 million for the Virginia Eviction Reduction Pilot (VERP) for seven projects throughout the Commonwealth to support eviction prevention services for 48 communities.

"Safe, stable housing is an essential component for strong families," said Governor Glenn Youngkin. "This pilot program tests to find the most effective wrap-around support services and assistance for Virginians that face housing uncertainty."

University of Virginia Institute for Biotechnology | $36,000,000

This project will support the University of Virginia Institute for Biotechnology to accelerate biotechnology commercialization, genomics and gene therapies, drug delivery technologies and biomanufacturing facilities in Virginia through incentives designed to attract research scientists. 

Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced more than $24.7 million in 20 Industrial Revitalization Fund (IRF) grants. IRF grants provide gap financing for construction projects aligned with local and regional economic development strategies, primarily in distressed communities.
